Pregnant women can consume Edam provided it is made from pasteurized milk in order to avoid the risk of listeriosis. Edam is a Dutch cheese from pressed uncooked dough cow milk. Its name comes from the region from which was produced. The cheese has small holes and this cheese is yellow. Its shape has been designed to facilitate export. Pregnant women can eat Edam salad, or in gratins, pies : cakes. During pregnancy, it will be a source of proteins and minerals.
