Creme brulee is a dessert which we do not know the exact origin: the first historical reference appeared in France in the seventeenth century, though not invented by the French. There are many variants such as Catalan cream or caramelized crème brulee. It is very often composed of eggyolk, sugar, custard, vanilla and caramel. Creme brulee can be part of the diet of pregnant women under certain conditions. To avoid any risk of listeriosis during pregnancy, prengant woman should only consume creme brule made from fresh eggs. They shouldn't have been laid more than 9 days before being used for the crem brulee.
